Central Luzon State University Programming Team qualified for the championship of Toro Inter-School IT Elite Challenge.
In the year of 2014, a total of 25 trainings were conducted by the team in partnership with the City Government of Muñoz. Five (5) of the trainings that were conducted was about the Barangay Management Information System (BMIS).
Four pilot barangays were selected to be part of the training, namely: Cabisuculan, Matingkis, San Felipe, and San Antonio based in the following criteria: a) nutritionally depressed barangay, b) development oriented and participative Barangay Development Council, and c) accessibility of the barangay.
A training on Barangay Management Information System (BMIS) for BIDANI Pilot Barangays was conducted to Capacitate the BMIS team and City Technical Action Committee (CTAC) team to lead the implementation of the BMIS activities in the barangays was composed of two parts: Part I was the half day training on data gathering which was held on site in four pilot barangays on June 23 to 24, 2014. Part II was the training on Data Encoding, Validation and Software held on July 4, 2014 at the OSIS Conference hall, Extension Office. There were 89 participants for Part I and 18 participants on Part II composed of barangay officials and CTAC members. The resource persons were CLSU BIDANI Program and CTAC members/official representatives.
The BMIS accomplishments in the three pilot barangays was 90%. Some data must be validated and checked for final data completion. Barangay Matingkis will conduct a re-validation of households and they have no computer. All BMIS reports are planned to be completed in the first quarter of 2015.
BIDANI was legitimized at the university, thru a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between UPLB and CLSU. Also, a MOA was executed between CLSU and LGU of Muñoz on February 24, 2014. It is being implemented by the Extension Office under Vice President for RET, funded under CLSU Fund 101. The Extension personnel involved in the Implementation of BIDANI are: Program Director, Dr. Pastora S. Coloma; Program Leader, Dr. Eugenia G. Baltazar; Project Leaders: Ms. Vivian S. Ramos, Ms. Lolita L. Ponce and Ms. Fermina M. Macanas.
